TITLE: Raise the Bar on your Project: Deliverable & Code Walkthroughs SPEAKER: Richard Burke, PMP, CSQA, Canada Revenue Agency DATE: 26th October 2006 ABSTRACT: With industry's renewed emphasis on Quality, Deliverable & Code Walkthroughs are a catalyst to achieving effective quality. Everyone knows the stress of working overtime, crazy project schedules, or pesky system problems. Taking a planned approach to reviewing and "testing" artifacts, deliverables or code before it gets into production can be a silver bullet for project success. As more heads are better than one, more eyes are better than two; feedback is helpful to identify and correct problems before system or code gets into production or worse, before these problems make national headlines. "Raise the Bar on your Project: Deliverable & Code Walkthroughs" will help harness this effective technique. You will learn strategies that have been successful with government and private sector projects. This session will provide a practical procedure that you can implement in either an individual, team or project-wide basis. It will cover identifying reviewers, creating checklists, walking through the document or code and follow-up techniques. Avoid unplanned overtime and last minute stressors, get your "stuff" right the first time with "Raise the Bar on your Project: Deliverable & Code Walkthroughs" BIO: Richard Burke has worked in the Information Technology Branch of Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) from1990 to 1998 and currently from 2002.
